Hypnotherapy for anxiety in London

Anxiety can be loud. It can also look like a life that still functions, while more and more decisions are being made around what might happen.

Recognising the pattern

The problem is rarely just the anxious feeling.

You check your body for signs that something is wrong.

You Google a symptom, feel reassured, then need to check again.

You ask somebody you trust what they think, but the certainty does not last.

You cancel a plan or arrange where you will sit so you can leave easily.

You replay a conversation and search for the moment you may have got it wrong.

You are exhausted, yet trying to relax gives your mind more room to scan.

What helps briefly can quietly become part of what keeps the anxiety going.

Checking, avoiding, planning an escape route or seeking reassurance can reduce discomfort for a moment. Your mind then learns that the action was necessary and prepares to protect you in the same way next time.

This is why knowing that a fear is unlikely does not always stop the response. The anxious reaction can arrive before conscious reasoning has caught up.

Our work focuses on changing the automatic pattern, so that your choices are no longer organised around preventing a feeling or preparing for the worst.

What life can look like afterwards

More freedom, not simply fewer anxious moments.

Trust your decisions

Make a choice without another round of checking, researching or asking somebody else to confirm it.

Go where you want to go

Travel, attend meetings and make plans without organising the experience around the nearest exit.

Rest without scanning

Allow your body and mind to settle without interpreting stillness as a cue to search for a problem.

Ways anxiety can show up

Different situations. Often the same protective pattern underneath.

HIGH FUNCTIONING

Capable on the outside, constantly managing inside

Over-preparing, perfectionism and carrying on long after your system needs to stop.

PANIC

Fear of the sensations and what they might mean

Watching your breathing, fearing fainting or losing control, and worrying about another episode.

HEALTH

Checking, Googling and needing certainty

A sensation triggers research or reassurance, relief follows, then a new doubt appears.

OVERTHINKING

A mind that will not declare the question finished

Replaying conversations, testing decisions and trying to think your way into complete certainty.

TRAVEL & ESCAPE

Feeling trapped or needing a route out

Choosing seats, journeys and plans according to how easily you could leave if anxiety appeared.

WORK & SOCIAL

Performing well while anticipating judgement

Preparing excessively, analysing reactions and struggling to switch off when the event is over.

Questions about anxiety hypnotherapy

Clear answers before you begin.

Can hypnotherapy help with anxiety?

Hypnotherapy can help change the automatic thoughts, feelings and behaviours that keep an anxiety pattern active. The initial consultation is where we understand your specific pattern and establish whether this approach is appropriate for you.

What if I know my fear is irrational?

Many people understand their fear logically and still experience an automatic physical and emotional response. The work focuses on that learned response rather than asking you to reason with it more forcefully.

How many sessions will I need?

Most programmes involve between one and four sessions. I will advise you on the appropriate level of support after the initial consultation.

Are online sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

Yes. The process works in the same way online. You can attend online throughout the UK or in person at Cavendish Square, London.

Will I lose control during hypnosis?

No. You remain aware, can hear what is being said and are able to respond throughout the session.

Do I need an anxiety diagnosis?

No formal diagnosis is required to arrange an initial consultation. We will explore what is happening, how it is affecting you and the change you want.
